Salted caramel EVERYTHING, right?
I may have licked the bowl clean. AND my plate.
Any excuse to pour salted caramel sauce on something is a win in my book, and I’m not sure that there’s anything better than this skillet apple cobbler.
The most time-consuming part of this recipe is in the apples. Peeling, coring and slicing take some time. I suggest trying to find large apples instead of small ones if you have the option. But it is well worth the effort.
In this recipe, I even put salted caramel sauce in with the apples before they bake. It just seemed like the right thing to do. I only used 1/4 cup but you can probably use 1/2 cup if you wanted to. Just remember, the real joy is drizzling it on top of the cobbler that you put on your plate.
I enjoyed this recipe because the smell it gives off in your kitchen while you bake it. I can’t describe it, only that it felt like fall was nowhere else but in our home that Sunday.
